Meet our keynote speaker: Prof. Dr. Bernd Weber

 

Bio:

Bernd Weber is a professor of Neuroeconomics and NeuroImaging and Director of the Center for Economics and Neuroscience at the University of Bonn. He is also running the business Unit NeuroEconomics at the Life&Brain Company, which bridges academic research and commercial applications. His main interest is human decision making with a focus on consumer behavior, which he investigates at the interface of neuroscience, psychology and economics.

Topic:

Consumer behave not always the way classical decision theory would predict. Contextual factors, like labels, brands, designs or prices have a strong impact on the value consumers attach to products. In recent years, neuroeconomics has gained a lot of insights into the brain processes underlying consumer choices. In this presentation I want to illustrate how our brain integrates different pieces of product attributes into subjective values and how they are influenced by contextual factor, changing valuation, perception and consumption.
